In contrast, it causes a shortage in essential nutrients for the retina and the brain, which makes women more prone to degenerative issues.

According to the experts, a diet rich in colored carotenoids functions as an antioxidant in the body. Lutein and zeaxanthin, in particular, two carotenoids abundant in particular tissues of the eye and brain, are known to lessen central nervous system degeneration.
