Myopia in children increases the risk of sadness and anxiety

A recent study by Orbis International found that children with myopia have much higher levels of sadness and anxiety than their classmates who do not have vision problems.  According to additional research, strabismus surgery considerably reduced the signs of anxiety and despair in young patients. The study, which was published in the peer-reviewed journal Ophthalmology, broadens clinicians' comprehension of the relationship between strabismus, vision impairment, and kids' mental health. An Orbis International news release from last month estimates that 19 million children under the age of 14 have vision impairment or are blind worldwide.
